Takes Hall of Fame Cup, 11-8

Aspen
Valley (Grant Ganzi, Juancito Bollini, Sebastian Merlos and
Nic Roldan) received one goal by handicap from the 21-goal FlexJet
team (Leo Mandelbaum, Kris Kampsen, Piki Alberdi and Juan Bollini)
and rode on to score an 11-8 win in the Hall of Fame Cup Sunday
morning at the International Polo Club.
Leo Mandelbaum scored the first goal from the field for FlexJet,
tying the score at 1-1. Aspen Valley countered with single goals
from Juancito Bollini and Nic Roldan for the early 3-1lead.
In a defensively-oriented second period, Kris Kampsen scored
the first goal of the period, a goal that was supported by shutout
defensive play. At the end of the opening chukker, Aspen Valley
was guarding a fragile 3-2 advantage.
The two teams traded goals in the third. Grant Ganzi opened
the chukker with a goal from the field for a 4-2 Kampsen scored
on a penalty shot, Kampsen closed out the period with a penalty
shot for a goal. At the end of the first half Aspen Valley was
clinging to a one-goal lead, 4-3.
Juancito Bollini scored both fourth chukkers for Aspen Valley.
Kampsen scored the only goal of the period for FlexJet who continued
to trail, 6-4.
The two teams traded goal for goal in the fifth chukker. Aspen
Valley picked up goals from Ganzi and Sebastian Merlos. Goals
from Mandelbaum and Alberdi were countered by Ganzi and Merlos.
After five chukkers of play it was a talent-laden Aspen Valley
team with the lead 8-6.
A goal from the field from Juan Bollini was answered by Ganzi
who scored his fifth goal of the day. Merlos added another goal,
10-7. Mandelbaum and Roldan scored the final two goals of the
chukker as Aspen Valley held on for the 11-8 win.
Ganzi and Bollini each scored three goals. Merlos and Roldan
added two goals each and the team received one goal by handicap.
Kampsen and Mandelbaum got FlexJet revved up and ready to go.
Mandelbaum and Juan Bollini each scored single goals in the
11-8 Aspen Valley victory.
Juancito Bollini scored three times , receiving the MVP award.
