In a low-scoring contest, Jan Pamela/Parrot Heads (1-1) managed a 6-4 win over Goose Creek (0-2) in the Jan Pamela 12-goal Pro-Am Challenge at the International Polo Club in Wellington Tuesday afternoon.

 

After a scoreless first chukker, Jeff Blake finally got Jan Pamela/Parrot Heads on the scoreboard with a penalty conversion. Goose Creek responded with a goal from the field from Chilean 6-goaler Tano Vial as the period ended in a 1-1 tie.
Goose Creek team captain Maureen Brennan put her team ahead 2-1 on an early penalty conversion in third chukker play. Blake responded with a penalty goal of his own to knot it up again at 2-2 to end the first half.

Goose Creek shut out the Jan Pamela/Parrot Heads offense in the fourth chukker while putting up a pair of goals of its own. Brennan scored a goal from the field while Vail converted a 60-yard Safety for a goal. After four chukkers of play, Goose Creek led, 4-2.

 

Jan Pamela/Parrot Heads took control of the game in the fifth chukker. Goals from Wayne Garrison and Steve Dalton tied it up in the fifth with shutout defense keeping Goose Creek off of the scoreboard. At the end of five chukkers of play it was all even at 4-4.

 

Blake scored two goals from the field in the sixth chukker while his teammates combined for a second consecutive period of shutout play. The Goose Creek attack misfired in the final minutes of the game in a 6-4 Jan Pamela/Parrot Heads victory.

Blake’s four goals led the Jan Pamela/Parrot Heads attack. Garrison and Dalton added single goals in the low-scoring affair.

Brennan and Vial scored two goals apiece in the Goose Creek loss.
