Statement in response to the U.S. Polo Association’s decision to begin randomly drug testing horses
November 4, 2009
“As the most prominent polo facility in the nation, the International Polo Club Palm Beach will champion any reform taken by the U.S. Polo Association for the welfare of the horse, the rider and our guests. The equestrian industry has more than a $700 million impact on Palm Beach County annually and IPC is proud to be a driving force in this success and a major part of the winter equestrian capital of the world. We are preparing for an exciting 2010 Palm Beach Polo Season which begins on January 3 and culminates with the 106th playing of the U.S. Open Polo Championship on April 18. Once again IPC will host 80,000-100,000 polo fans all of whom are eager to enjoy the highest goal polo played in the nation, major tournaments and world-class events.”
